terms of use

The terms this website and the service are offered on.

getax provides decision support for professional firms and does not provide licensed tax advice. These terms set out how the website and the service are offered on that basis.

The agreement

These terms apply to www.getax.io and to any evaluation access to the getax console that we grant without a signed order. By using the website you accept them. A firm’s paid use of the service is governed by its order form and data processing agreement; where those documents and this page differ, the signed documents prevail.

How we handle personal data is set out in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.

What the website content is

The sample report is an illustrative engagement for a fictional client. Its figures are drawn from the getax knowledge base as at the date printed on it and are cited to their official sources, but the client, the facts of the case and the assessment are constructed to show what a report looks like. Nothing on this website is a statement about your circumstances.

Published figures on this website (numbers of validated facts, jurisdictions and sources) are counts from the live knowledge base at the date shown beside them and change as the base grows.

Not tax, legal or financial advice

getax is decision support for professional firms. A report drafted by the service is reviewed, signed and delivered by a licensed adviser under the firm’s own name; getax is not that adviser and has no client relationship with the firm’s clients. Every report names the licensed specialists to consult before acting. Do not act on any content from this website or the service without advice from a professional who is responsible to you.

Tax law changes. A fact in the knowledge base carries the date its source was checked; it is accurate as of that date and not necessarily after it.

The service and your account

The console and firm subdomains are for firms we have provisioned and the users those firms have invited. Sign-in links are personal and expire; do not share them. A firm is responsible for the people it invites, for the client data it enters, and for having the right to enter it. Client questionnaires are consent-gated: a client is asked before the first question and can stop at any point.

We publish our security posture, including the assurance we do not hold, on the security page. Evaluation access may be withdrawn at any time; paid access is governed by the order form.

Acceptable use

  • Do not attempt to reach another firm’s tenant, data or reports. Isolation is enforced and attempts are logged.
  • Do not scrape, bulk-download or reproduce the knowledge base or reports for redistribution.
  • Do not submit data you have no right to submit, or content that is unlawful.
  • Do not probe, load-test or attack the service. If you find a vulnerability, tell us at benjamin@getax.io and give us a reasonable time to fix it.
  • Do not use the service to give advice you are not licensed to give.

Ownership

getax owns the website, the console, the knowledge base structure, the report format and the software. Official sources cited in a report belong to their publishers and are quoted for identification and verification. A firm owns the client data it enters and the reports delivered to it, and grants getax the rights needed to provide the service. Feedback you give us may be used to improve the product without obligation.

Liability

The website and evaluation access are provided as they are, without warranty. To the extent the law allows, getax is not liable for loss arising from reliance on website content, on the sample report, or on evaluation use of the service, and is not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Liability for paid use of the service is set out in the order form.

These terms are governed by the law of the country in which getax is established, and its courts have jurisdiction; the order form names both for firm agreements.

Changes and contact

Material changes to these terms are announced to firms by email, and continued use of the website after a change is acceptance of the new terms. Questions go to benjamin@getax.io.
