about getax

Living across borders shouldn’t require faith.

We once trusted an answer we couldn’t check. getax exists so no one has to.

Why we built it

getax started with a costly mistake. Living and building across borders, we hired professionals, and one piece of advice turned out to be wrong. By the time we found out, the damage was done. The worst part was realizing we’d had no way to check. The answer had sounded certain, and we had nothing to hold it against.

It sat on our hearts until we built what we had needed: a system where every number opens to the law behind it. Tax consultants told us the same research cost them days on every engagement. They didn’t want to be replaced; they wanted those days back.

Before we shipped anything, a frontier model drafted a report on its own and got 16 of 25 claims wrong or incomplete, sounding just as certain. Measured the same way against naive AI models: from 24% to 98%. It’s the answer we wish we’d had.

What we hold to

  • Show the source. Every number traces to the official text that says so.
  • Show the gap. What we don’t know is stated, not hidden.
  • The judgment stays human. The professional decides and signs.
  • Expertise belongs in judgment, not in searching.

Every validated rate or threshold requires tax-authority, legislation or treaty text. It’s a rule the system enforces, not a promise.

getax provides decision support, not licensed tax advice.
